WEMSS (Women's Enhanced Medium Secure Services): Our WEMSS comprises two 10-bed enhanced medium secure wards, Melrose and Parkland. This service is specifically designed to address the complex needs and challenging behaviours of women with mental illness and personality disorders who pose a risk of significant harm to themselves or others. Using an enhanced relational security model, we focus on dynamic care planning and therapeutic engagement, empowering women to actively participate in decisions about their care.
Cassel Hospital: The Cassel Hospital offers treatment to adults with severe and complex personality disorders, as well as young people with emerging personality disorders who have exhausted other avenues of help from mental health services. Treatment at the Cassel typically lasts from a minimum of 9 months to a maximum of 33 months, depending on the individual's circumstances and available resources. We strive to provide evidence-based treatment that reduces symptoms, improves quality of life, enhances interpersonal relationships, increases occupational capacity, and reduces the use of local mental health services.
