WEMSS is a national service offered by the West London NHS Trust to women with mental illness and personality disorders who have complex needs and challenging behaviour. It comprises two 10-bed enhanced medium secure wards: Melrose and Parkland. Our approach focuses on an enhanced relational security model, enabling women to actively participate in their care decisions. We accept referrals from throughout England. The service is suitable for women who require enhanced levels of intervention and treatment in a medium secure setting, beyond what current medium secure services can provide.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Women with mental illness and personality disorders
- Complex needs and challenging behaviour
- Risk of significant harm to themselves or others
